First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our friends in the Panhandle of Florida and beyond as Hurricane Michael makes landfall. Destin, Florida was home to us for many years and we have family, life long friends and great colleagues in the area.
As the storm has yet to fully pass through this region and others in its path, we wanted to post the IRS website for any of our friends, colleagues or exchangor’s in that region. In the coming days and weeks, this site will be updated with the most current information that might affect the timelines for 1031 exchanges in this area. Though this is the least of anyone’s concerns at this point (as it should be), we hope it will help and or make this time any easier for our friends in the area.
All current information that may pertain to tax relief in disaster situations by Hurricane Michael can be found here.
In the mean time, here are other ways to donate your time or funds to those affected by Hurricane Michael.
